Photos and videos from the Caribbean

We’re heading to the Caribbean again this week with a group of online players who won seats at WSOP St Maarten The Great Event. Lukas, Daniel, Phil, Chris and Chris will meet in the Caribbean from Germany, Hungary and America. We’ll follow their experiences over two days of racing and chat with them as they enjoy a unique tropical island experience.

In addition to the Main Event, there has been much more to the rebuild Casino Royalebut of course our players want to hit the beaches and bars!

The Sonesta Maho Beach Resort where the players will have the center of the casino and the famous beach where everyone goes to be shot by KLM 747s. This may not be how most people know St Maarten, but poker players know it as a great place to play poker!

“I played again for $2 to get a seat in the $110 satellite which I won this time!” said Phil who also won his trip to Punta Cana three years ago. “I’m a fun-loving actor. I work for an architectural firm in Pittsburgh, but I play fun games at a casino near me from time to time. I’m really looking forward to going back to St Maarten! “

Lukas has won a seat in St Maarten before and also won a satellite at the WPT National in Venice. Last fall he won his way into the €500,000 Malta Poker Festival.
“I’ve brought my boyfriend to relax at the beach and pool while I’m in the casino, hoping he’ll find my first Hendon Mob series!” he said. “It’s a win-win – if I get out early, I can have fun in the sun with my girlfriend!”
Chris Perkins won his way to St Maarten a few years ago. Since his first taste of international competition, he has quit his job and has been traveling and playing poker.
Chris said: “I’m really excited to be back on the island. “I hope everything will look better after the storm.”
The WSOPC St Maarten, now in its fourth year, is a well-managed tournament produced by TK Poker. It attracts all types of players – professional, semi-professional, and recreational – from all over the world. In addition to the main event, there will be plenty of cash games to keep players busy.
